Our Admissions Process
Registration & Tuition
The registration process begins with a personal interview at the school. Pikes Peak Academy charges a monthly tuition on a sliding scale that is based on total household income and family size. All families who desire to attend PPA are provided with an affordable tuition rate. Tuition should be budgeted for each month except June and July, when PPA is not in session. Call the school office today at (719) 473-5745 to ask questions or schedule your interview!
Student Assessment
Beginning at the initial interview and again during the first day of class, PPA staff will assess each new student’s academic needs by evaluating specific reading, writing, and math levels. These evaluations will help reveal existing academic competencies and will provide PPA staff with the information needed to better tailor each student’s academic coursework.
Students work quite closely with their teachers in a highly relational environment where those teachers will equip, challenge, and encourage their students to attain a minimum mastery level of 80% on all academic assignments. PPA uses the ACT WorkKeys to validate mastery in all academics. More specifically, WorkKeys tests highlight a student’s ability to apply academic skills to real-world workplace environments, so all tests must be passed at a score of 4 or higher in order to graduate from PPA.
On the final Friday of the month, parents and student advocates are updated with a weekly progress report of all academic and life-skills progress.
Closed Campus
PPA provides a hot lunch each Monday-Friday. Students may leave campus only when accompanied by a PPA staff member or with parent permission in conjunction with a school administrator.
