  • High School Social Studies Teacher

We are seeking a passionate, mission-driven Social Studies Teacher to join our team and help shape the futures of our students through individualized instruction and meaningful relationships.

    Position Summary:
    The Social Studies Teacher is responsible for teaching core social studies subjects (including history, government, geography, and economics) through an individualized instructional approach. This role emphasizes fostering critical thinking, engagement with real-world issues, and preparing students for both graduation and life beyond high school. Teachers at Pikes Peak Academy also play a key role in mentoring students and modeling Christ-like character.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s learning needs, strengths, and goals.

    • Teach social studies content aligned with academic standards, incorporating workforce readiness skills and connections to students’ lives.

    • Monitor and support the academic progress.

    • Create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning, personal responsibility, and respect.

    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and enrichment opportunities.

    • Participate in staff team-building, planning activities, and school events.

    • Model Christian values and foster a supportive, grace-filled atmosphere.

    • Engage with students, families, and community partners as needed to support student success.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field preferred.

    • Valid teaching license or ability to obtain licensure preferred.

    • Previous experience working with youth strongly preferred.
